Photo library recovery
I moved my whole photo library to my own server, then had to rescue it.

What's the setup?
Immich, self-hosted, running from an SSD, with backups to hard drives.
So what broke?
Older photos, mostly from before 2023, would not load or came up blurred, even though the files were still there.
How did you fix it?
I audited the library to find which files were really damaged, pruned the broken entries out of the database, restored what I could from backups, and re-synced from my iPhone to fill the gaps.
Is it fully fixed?
Some photos could not be saved.
My backups now send an alert when they fail, so I hear about it the same day.
